An angry mob has beaten to death a man who allegedly attacked a couple and inflicted injuries on them.
The angry mob, in Jabbi Lamba, a community in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State, descended on the man, said to be mentally ill, after he attacked a husband and his wife for no apparent cause.
The man, identified simply as Adamu, was killed shortly after he had attacked the couple last Friday, April 5, DAILY POST gathered on Monday.
A witness said the man, who was armed with a machete, used it against the couple, leaving them critically injured and now in hospital receiving medical attention.
The spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje who confirmed the incident, advised the general public to take their relatives who are not mentally sound to psychiatric hospitals for treatment.
Leaving mentally disturbed relations to roam around, the police spokesman said, is dangerous to society.
