Man Utd’s Dalot snubs Onana, names goalkeeper to become world’s best

Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot has set tongues wagging by singling out FC Porto’s Diogo Costa as the next big thing in goalkeeping, seemingly overlooking his own teammate, Andre Onana.

Despite United’s hefty investment in Onana, Dalot believes Costa is poised to ascend to the summit of goalkeeping prowess.

Onana, who joined United from Inter Milan for a hefty sum, has faced criticism, even from club legends Roy Keane and Gary Neville, but has shown signs of improvement.

Nonetheless, Dalot’s endorsement of Costa, who was previously linked with a move to United, underscores his belief in the Porto star’s potential to dominate the global goalkeeping scene.

Speaking to Sport TV in Portugal, Dalot expressed his confidence in Costa’s abilities, asserting that he will soon rank among the elite goalkeepers worldwide.

“I think [Costa] is already more than ready for this leap [to a top European club], which will happen when he decides, whenever,” Dalot said.

“I have had the opportunity to tell him several times that he has that ability and for me he will be the best goalkeeper in the world soon.

“He’s already one of the best and that is why I believe he has that potential, that future.”
