Ligue 1: Nantes boss, Kombouare laments Moses Simon’s injury

Nantes manager, Antoine Kombouare has expressed his disappointment after losing Moses Simon to injury.

Simon will miss the remainder of the season after he fractured his ankle during Nigeria’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Mali on Tuesday.

The winger underwent a successful surgery on Friday and is expected to be sidelined for up to three months.

The 28-year-old is an important player for the Canaries, who are fighting relegation in Ligue 1 this season.

Kambouare admitted his absence is a big blow for his team.

“We are sad for him (Simon) because he wanted to come back and help the team,” Kombouare told the club’s website.

“That is not the case. Now we have to do without him.

“It’s a huge blow for the team.”

Simon has scored three goals and provided six assists in 22 league appearances for the Canaries this season.
