Manchester United have sent a message to their former player Angel Gomes after he sustained a serious head injury on Saturday.
Gomes collided with Reims defender Amadou Kone in the 11th minute of the French Ligue 1 match.
The 23-year-old was immediately treated on the pitch as Kone was sent off.
Gomes was then stretchered off before being taken to hospital.
The match which eventually ended in a 2-0 win in favour of Lille, was delayed for 34 minutes.
Reacting, the Premier League club, in a statement on their website, wished Gomes a speedy recovery.
“We are all thinking of you and wish you a speedy recovery, Angel,” Man United’s statement partly read.
