LGA poll: Don’t brutalise Abia voters on Saturday – IPAC warns security agencies

The Abia State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has cautioned security agencies against subjecting voters to any form of brutality during the November 2 local government election in Abia State.

The chairman of IPAC in Abia, Nelcin Uluocha, said this on Thursday in Umuahia after the signing of a peace pact by political parties in the state.

Uluocha, who is also the chairman of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, in Abia in Abia State, said that a situation where voters are manhandled would not be tolerated.

He also berated the member representing Aba North Aba South Federal constituency, Alex Ikwuechegh for how he treated Bolt Driver, saying that his organisation condemned the ugly conduct of the Rep member in its totality.

Uluocha advised the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, to institute a disciplinary measure to address the behaviour of its members.

He further said that Governor Alex Otti is not interfering in the functions of the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, ABSIEC, and therefore urged Abia voters and political parties to be peaceful during the Saturday election.
