Recall that the State wing of the NMA, started its Annual General Meeting peacefully, with a scientific conference but when the election of the new State officials commenced, trouble that could not be addressed began.

The returning officer for the election was the National Publicity Secretary and former State Chairman of the Association, Dr Mannir Bature, who adjourned the session to 5 pm, where the delegates were to participate in the exercise.

Dr Bature stated that they reconvened at 5 pm, when the election was conducted, saying that candidates for other positions emerged unopposed but three candidates, namely Ibrahim Jibril Hano, Mohammed Abubakar and Usman Suleiman contested the chairmanship position.
