Lawmaker seeks emergency repair of Jalingo-Numan road

The House of Representatives member for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State, Sadiq Abbas Njiddah Tafida, has appealed for the immediate repair of the deteriorating Jalingo–Numan road in the Northeastern part of the country.

The call comes amid the escalating hardships faced by commuters plying the route.

The trunk A road which serves as a major linking the region, has been begging for government assistance.

Tafida, who was recently elected on the platform of the PDP in a bye-election, emphasized the urgent need for rehabilitation during an oversight visit by the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA),

He lamented the present condition of the road saying it has become a death trap for both motorists and passengers.

Expressing his commitment to addressing the pressing infrastructure deficits facing his constituency, Tafida pledged to collaborate with the Managing Director of FERMA to expedite the rehabilitation process.

He underscored the road’s significance as a lifeline connecting multiple states in the Northeast and linking them to the Eastern and Western parts of Nigeria.

Despite the contract for the rehabilitation of the Jalingo-Numan being awarded during the first tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, progress on the project has stalled, exacerbating the plight of commuters.
