Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has ruled out any possibility of switching Vinicius Junior’s position with Mbappe.
Mbappe became Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time leading goalscorer playing off the left wing during his time with the French Ligue 1 champions.
However, the France international has been moved into a more central position since joining Real Madrid last summer, with Vinicius playing from the left wing.
There have been calls that Ancelotti consider switching both forward positions.
But speaking to the media ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga clash with Osasuna on Saturday, Ancelotti insisted that he doesn’t want to ‘switch the position of Vinicius, who makes the difference for the Los Blancos.’
“I didn’t want to switch the position of player [Vinicius], who makes the difference for us,” Ancelotti said.
“Sometimes during a game he might switch with Mbappé, and I don’t intend to change that. It’s not an issue with offensive positioning; it’s defensive.”
