Barcelona sporting director, Deco has hinted at manager, Xavi Hernandez’s replacement at the club.
Xavi had recently announced he would ‘leave Barcelona in June’ when the current season is over.
Understandably, the search for the next manager to take over from the Spaniard is already on.
There have already been rumours linking coaches like Thiago Motta, who currently coaches Bologna, to replace Xavi at Barca.
However, Deco was quick to dismiss those rumours, hinting that the manager that would take over from Xavi must follow a line of work, adding that his team must play well and like to have the ball.
“Motta? I don’t follow Motta’s work much because he is not in an Italian team who I usually watch,” Deco told La Vanguardia (via Tribal Football).
“Whoever arrives must follow a line of work and we will hardly accept a team that doesn’t play well and doesn’t want to have the ball.
“We will start from that idea, then every coach has his own characteristics, but whoever arrives must have ambition and hunger to do great things.”
