Although the government offered N60,000 as a new minimum wage, Organized Labour rejected it, insisting on N494,000.

They said the N60,000 offered by the government was unacceptable based on high inflation and the country’s difficult economic conditions.

In protest, Labour closed all public offices on Monday, including schools, the National Assembly, airports and other facilities.
