Kwara United defeated Plateau United 2-1 at the Kwara Sports Complex.
DAILY POST recalled that the club’s management had handed the former Wikki Tourists coach a three-match ultimatum prior to the game in Ilorin.
“I want to thank God for the victory, it was important for us to win the game because if we didn’t win we would have dropped to 17 or 18 positions but we are grateful to God to have achieved the success,” he told Owosports.
“Our coach was very angry with us because the last match we didn’t win so he told us that if we didn’t win he was going to re-sign so we played for him to make him happy.
“It was very difficult because Plateau United came with a plan and after they got their goal they sat back and it was difficult for us to break them down.”
