Kwara police confirm arrest of three robbery suspects in Ilorin

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspected robbers allegedly terrorising residents of Tanke area in Ilọrin South LGA of the state.

Spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi, who confirmed the development, said an investigation into the incident was ongoing.

DAILY POST learnt that their arrest occurred when operatives led by one corporal Abubakar Muhammed led a foot patrol in the Oke-Odo area of the community.

A search in an uncompleted building said to be used by one of them led to the recovery of firearms.

It was the arrest of one of the suspects, Olamide AbdulRaheem, that later led to the apprehension of two others, Taofeek Raheem and Nuhu Toyeeb, it was learnt.

According to Ejire Adetoun, a locally fabricated pistol, a small axe, a butcher’s knife and one dagger were recovered at the abandoned building.

She warned that the police command under Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, will make the state uncomfortable for criminals and their elements.
