Kwara media worker’s strike: NALVEJ calls for truce

The National League of Veteran Journalists, NALVEJ, in Kwara State, has appealed to the striking workers of the state-owned media to call off their industrial action in the interest of the society and the people they serve.

The league appealed in a statement signed on Tuesday in Ilorin by its chairman, Tunde Akanbi, and the publicity secretary, Abdullahi Olesin.

The association equally implored the state government to look into the demands of the aggrieved media workers.

It urged both parties to engage in a roundtable dialogue to resolve the issues agitating the minds of the striking media workers.

The workers commenced a two-day warning strike on Tuesday to press home their demands for better welfare in the state-owned media houses.
