Kwara government assures stadium upgrade ahead of new NPFL season

Kwara State government has assured that the Ilorin Township Stadium will be ready before the commencement of the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The state sports commission boss, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji stated this in a chat with the media in Ilorin.

Mogaji dispelled reports that the Stadium was damaged due to a political rally.

DAILY POST recalls that the Ilorin Township Stadium alongside six other stadiums were called for upgrade by the NPFL.

“Only a person that has been in Kwara for the last four years would say that the Kwara State stadium main bowl was used for political rallies,” he stated to the media.

“Kwara State Stadium has one of the best turfs in the country.

“It is normal that at the end of the season, some patches or aspects of the stadium would need repairs. That is all the league body is saying.”
