Kogi Govt debunks recruiting new teachers

The Kogi State Government has debunked the news making the rounds that it has begun the process of recruiting new teachers into the state civil service.

Some sections of the media (not DAILY POST) had earlier reported that the government has started employing new teachers across the state.

But the Executive Chairman of Kogi State Science, Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission, STETSCOM, Mrs Cecilia Cook, in a statement on Monday, disassociated the state government from the purported teacher recruitment, urging the public to disregard the information.

According to her, the information making the rounds in some sections of the media is the handiwork of mischievous persons bent on defrauding innocent job seekers.

She explained that the Kogi State Government, through STETSCOM, has a functional website, www.stetscom.kogistate.gov.ng/ where necessary information about recruitment and other information is posted for the consumption of the people of the state.

“We urge the people of Kogi State not to apply for such recruitment or pay money to anyone, as the Commission is not recruiting teachers in its secondary school at the moment.

“The Commission wishes to appeal to the public to assist it with relevant information that will help to crack down on the perpetrators of this heinous act with the view of bringing them to book,” she said.
