Kebbi govt sacks one district head, suspends another for insubordination

The Kebbi State Government has sacked the District Head of Sauwa, Muhammad Tajudden-Sauwa, for insubordination.

The government also slammed a six-month suspension on the District Head of Guluma, Muhammad Bashir-Guluma for the same offence.

Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi Governor, Ahmed Idris, disclosed this in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

He said a committee set up on January 31 by the Local Government Service Commission, found the two local officials guilty of insubordination.

The committee was set up following complaints against the two district heads in Argungu Local Government Council.

He said the committee recommended the action taken by the government in line with Public Services Rule 030301(0), which centred around acts of insubordination.

He further stated that the termination and suspension of the district heads took effect on February 29, 2024.
