Former Governor of Kano State and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said that the law establishing Kano emirates will be revisited by the government of Abba Yusuf.
DAILY POST reports that after Yusuf’s victory at the Supreme Court, insinuations were rife that he might reverse the earlier law that created the five emirates.
And speaking in an interview with radio stations in Kano on Friday, the former presidential candidate of the NNPP said the law would definitely be revisited.
“Honestly, it is one of the things that nobody has intimated me about so far. But I am sure the government will review the whole matter and do the needful.
“The present government would see the possibility or otherwise of allowing the five emirates, I don’t know. What I know is that the government will definitely revisit the issue,” the senator noted.
Kwankwaso stated that former governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, balkanized the Emirates for his personal political agenda.
