The National chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, has called on the Federal Government to probe the recent violent protests in Kano.
Ganduje made this call in reaction to the claims by the Kano State government that the APC was behind the violence.
The former Kano State Governor also accused Governor Abba Yusuf of orchestrating the unrest to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Ganduje said that the state government should be held responsible for the violence.
A statement by Ganduje’s chief press secretary, Edwin Olofu, said credible intelligence revealed that Governor Yusuf’s administration was directly responsible for the violent protests.
“Contrary to the claim by the Kano State government suggesting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) sponsored the violent protests in Kano State recently, rather it’s the Kano State government that funded the protest to tarnish the image of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
“It is alarming that a sitting governor would incite such chaos and violence within his state, putting the lives and properties of innocent citizens at risk.
“We strongly condemn this reckless and irresponsible behaviour, which is an attempt to destabilize Kano, undermine the peace and security of the region, more importantly, tarnish the good image of our President,” the statement read.
