Kano Pillars coach Maikaba blames poor pitch for defeat to Niger Tornadoes

Kano Pillars head coach Abdulahi Maikaba has blamed the playing turf of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium for his team’s defeat to Niger Tornadoes.

The Sai Masu Gida lost the Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 15 encounter 1-0.

Bashir Usman’s strike gave the Ikon Allah Boys maximum points in the game.

Maikaba assured that the continental ambition of the former Nigeria Premier Football League champions still remain intact despite the loss.

“The pitch at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna really affected our performance in the loss against Niger Tornadoes,” he said in a post-match interview.

“Kano Pillars still hold high a continental aspirations despite the setback of the game.”

Kano Pillars remain in seventh position on the NPFL table with 22 points.
