Kano: CP charges 181 newly-promoted officers to fight crime, abide by professional conduct

The Kano Police Commissioner, Salman Garba, charged 181 newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts in fighting crime in the state.

In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, it was noted that the elevated officers, who were promoted from Inspectors to Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II), were part of the recent promotion announced by the Police Service Commission on July 29, 2024.

According to the statement, on August 13, 2024, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, decorated 181 newly promoted Senior Police Officers.

CP Dogo Garba, while congratulating the promoted officers and their families, emphasized the importance of commitment, professionalism, and clean records in achieving the promotion.

“He also expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Police Service Commission, and the Force management team,” the statement said.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, ASP Jacob Yadume assured the Command of their commitment to discharging their duties professionally and in compliance with the rule of law.

During his lecture with Supervising Police Officers, CP Garba commended them for their efforts despite recent security challenges.

He charged them to redouble their efforts to ensure the protection of lives and property in the state.
