Kaduna: PDP charges residents to remain calm over Supreme Court judgement

The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State, Hon. Felix Hassan Hyat, has charged the people of the state to remain calm and law abiding.

This followed the court judgement a few days ago, declaring Governor Uba Sani as the authentic winner of the election.

Hyat, in a statement which was pasted on the party’s official Facebook on Sunday, said, “although, we did not get justice at the court owing to the fact that the matter was decided strictly on technicalities and not the substance of the case, we appeal to our teeming supporters to remain calm and accept this outcome as the will of God for us all.”

The statement assured party members of the party’s resolve to continue working with them in holding the government of the state accountable and ensuring equity, justice, and fairness in the allocation of government resources and projects.

While pleading with the people of the state, especially those in Makera, Chikun, Kauru, Kudan, Igabi, and Kachia/Kagarko state and federal constituencies respectively, to keep faith with the party candidates in the rerun elections of 9th February, 2023, it also urgeed the electorates not to be discouraged by the outcome of the Supreme Court judgment in respect of the governorship election.

It encouraged all to come out by enmasse to vote for the PDP and also defend their votes.

“Eternal vigilance is the price for freedom. Our liberation, therefore, from the era of electoral theft, can only be guaranteed when we mobilise ourselves to vote, resist vote buying and intimidation of voters, and also ensure our votes are counted, protected, and defended at all costs, at the various collation centres. This should be our attitude come 9th February, 2023, across all the areas election will be holding,” he said.
