Kaduna: Bandits invade Angwar Danko, kidnap unspecific number of villagers

Bandits have invaded Angwar Danko village in Kakangi Constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Wednesday at 6 pm firing shots indiscriminately, while forcing their victims into the forest.

According to the resident of the area, men and women who were abducted by the suspected bandits are currently being marched into the forest.

Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, representative for Kakangi Ward in the State House of Assembly, confirmed the incident.

He stated that he had yet to receive full details regarding the number of villagers abducted but confirmed that it is in the dozens.

“I just received a call from the area informing me that dozens of my constituents have been abducted. The bandits have surrounded the village, and as we speak, they are still there, taking their victims into the forest. The situation is dire,” he said.

Dan Salio expressed concern, noting that most of the victims were men.

ASP Mansur Hassan, the Public Relations Officer for the State Police Command, stated that he would reach out to the area for details before providing further comments.
