June 12: ‘We are prepared against breach of peace during ‘Hungry and Angry’ protest’ – Police

The Police Command in Niger State has announced its preparedness to prevent any breach of peace during the June 12 political activities, particularly the proposed “Hungry and Angry” protest in the state.

This disclosure was made in a statement issued by the Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, and signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Wasiu Abiodun, in Minna.

The commissioner revealed that personnel have been adequately mobilized and will be strategically deployed to public places, covering critical government assets and ensuring public order.

“The Command is prepared for June 12 activities, which are mostly characterized by political rallies and other activities, especially the proposed ‘Hungry and Angry’ protest,” stated CP Danmamman.

“An operational order has been drawn up, and officers have been assigned responsibilities to deploy operational assets and personnel, monitor, and supervise the men accordingly.”

CP Danmamman also urged Nigerlites and residents to be law-abiding citizens, to follow the path of dialogue and consultation in addressing their grievances, and to avoid resorting to self-help.

He further warned parents and guardians to caution their wards against any act that could cause a breach of public peace before, during, or after June 12.
