Jigawa Government reacts as civil servants refuse to return to work post-Eid holidays

Civil servants in Jigawa State have reportedly refused to return to work following the conclusion of the Eid holidays on Thursday.

DAILY POST reported that the Federal Government had earlier declared a two-day holiday for the festivities – Tuesday and Wednesday – but the crescent moon was not sighted on Monday, hence, the holiday was extended to Thursday.

The aftermath of the Eid festivities has seen a significant number of civil servants failing to report back to their respective duties, This development has sparked concerns regarding the efficiency and productivity of government operations.

While reacting, the Jigawa State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri, has urged Civil Servants in the State to be Punctual and dedication to duties.

The Head of Service who stated this when he paid unscheduled visit to various MDAs at the State Secretariat to monitor resumption of workers after Eid-el-Fitr Sallah holiday.

Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri, who visited offices at the State Secretariat noted that while some Civil Servants were in their offices ready for work many are yet to report to work after the three days Eid-el-Fitr Sallah celebration.

Expressing his dismay over the situation, the Head of Service emphasized the importance of commitment and dedication to duty, stressing that absenteeism undermines the delivery of essential services to the citizens of Jigawa State.

He urged civil servants to prioritize their responsibilities and uphold the principles of professionalism.

He charged the Civil Servants in the State to reciprocate the good gesture done to them by Governor Malam Umar A Namadi.
