JIgawa court sentences four persons to life imprisonment for raping teenager

A Jigawa State High Court has sentenced four individuals to life imprisonment for the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Kurmi quarters, Gwaram Local Government Area of the state.

The convicts, identified as Sale Ibrahim (40), Amadu Saleh (46), Sale Ali (40), and Danmami Yusuf (37), were found guilty of the offence of rape under Section 3 (1) and punishable under Section 3 (2a & 2b) of the VAPP Laws of Jigawa State.

The prosecution presented four witnesses, including a medical report, and tendered two exhibits to support their case.

After hearing from both parties, the court concluded that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

This sentencing comes on the heels of another recent case where the State High Court sentenced one Aminu Ali, 25, to life imprisonment for committing rape and sodomy.
