The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus, NG-Cares programme has issued a strong warning to beneficiaries to be vigilant against fraudsters demanding money before or after the support.
Jigawa NG-CARES State Project Coordinator, Umar Idris, issued the warning at the launch of distribution of food items to 16,200 beneficiaries under Fadama Office, held in Taura Local Government Area.
He said the warning become necessary to inform the beneficiaries that the support is a grant and free.
According to him: “NG-CARES is aimed at providing support to Nigerians affected by the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic; it is entirely free, no money is required from the beneficiary before or after the intervention.
“All beneficiaries should be aware that any request for money is fraudulent, and we urge them to report such cases immediately to the relevant authorities.”
He added that also under the FADAMA Cares, over 30,000 persons benefited from agricultural inputs and assets as promised by Governor Umar Namadi.
Umar urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support provided to improve their economic conditions and sustain themselves during these challenging times.
