I’ve served Ndigbo better than anyone – Simon Ekpa boasts

Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa said he has served Ndigbo and its interest for self-rule better than anyone.

Ekpa, who is known as the Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, was the leader of the Igbo Community in Finland from 2015 to 2019.

According to him, while he was the Chairman of Igbo Union Finland, he took Ndigbo and secured financial support from the Finnish government through cultural stipends and other efforts.

Ekpa disclosed this in a statement on Sunday through his X account.

He noted that he facilitated the acceptance of the Union into the Finnish 100-year centenary under his chairmanship.

He added that despite frustration from people, the Union was able to strive under his watch.

“I have served Ndigbo better than they can ever attempt to do.

“When I was the Chairman of Igbo Union Finland. It is on record, I was the only Chairman who secured Financial support from the Finnish government through cultural stipends and opened many doors for Igbo Union Finland.

“As the Chairman, I facilitated the acceptance of the Union into the Finnish 100-year centenary, signed by the Finnish Prime Minister back then. Nobody has such capacity to represent Ndigbo in Finland.

“I served the Igbo Community in Finland from 2015 to 2019, which is a complete four years.

“These persons refused to contribute money during my tenure, yet the government of Finland supported the union financially then.

“But when I was not the chairman, I was the highest donor for any event. It is on record that I supported every other chairman, but when it was my turn, none of them wanted to bring out money, thinking my leadership would fail.

“But it was the highest, the most successful of them all. The first time we celebrated the Iriji festival without contributing money.

“Today, they can’t even organise an ordinary Iriji festival”, he said.
