Insecurity: Police confirm killing of 19 persons in Kogi

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the killing of 19 persons in Kogi State.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday in Omala Local Government Area of the State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, while confirming the incident in a chat with DAILY POST on Friday, said the Commissioner of Police has already deployed operatives to the area.

Aya said, “As I speak to you, what we have counted is 19 persons. That is what the DPO and other stakeholders have been able to report to us.

“The Commissioner of Police has deployed officers of the Command such as Police mobile force, counter terrorism, conventional Police, intelligence unit, local vigilantes, with other security agencies as they are already on ground to ensure normalcy and ensure perpetuators are arrested and prosecuted.”

The Police spokeperson told DAILY POST that investigation has commenced to unravelled the cause of the attack.
