Insecurity: Normalcy will return to Southeast if Nnamdi Kanu is freed – Igbo youths

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has said the only way to tackle the security crisis in the region is to release the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

COSEYL, in a statement issued and made available to DAILY POST on Saturday by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, said as long as the secessionist remains in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, the wanton killings in the region may not stop.

According to him, the continuous incarceration of Kanu “has brought insecurity to the Southeast, leading to hardship, starvation, and hunger in the country”.

He said the sit-at-home usually observed on Mondays and any day Kanu is taken to court has restricted the region’s economic growth.
