INEC confirms disruption of election in Enugu South re-run

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says the ongoing Enugu South Urban State Constituency re-run election has been disrupted by hoodlums.

The commission, while confirming this in a post on its official X handle, said election materials were destroyed during the unfortunate attacks.

The post, however, indicated that no casualties were recorded aside from the obstruction of voting exercise.

The post reads, “A report from our Enugu State office indicates that hoodlums have disrupted the court-ordered re-run election in the Enugu South 1 State Constituency.

“Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but election materials were destroyed, and voters were obstructed from casting their votes.
