I was not suspended – Gov Adeleke’s aide defends himself of allegations

Emmanuel Adebisi, the Special Assistant on Civil Society Organisations to the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has come out to defend himself against his reported suspension by the Governor

DAILY POST recalled that Governor Adeleke on Wednesday directed that Adebisi be suspended pending the outcome of investigations by his Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye.

Adebisi’s suspension was announced in a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Olawale Rasheed.

It was gathered, however, that he was suspended by the governor for his involvement in diverting 70 bags of rice.

However, Adebisi, in a personally signed statement obtained from his Facebook post on Wednesday, described as untrue an allegation that he had diverted 70 bags of rice meant for distribution to members of the civil society groups in the state during the last Eid-el-Kabir festival.

Adebisi who signed the statement with the title; Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Civil Society Organisations, alluded that the rumour that the governor suspended him was untrue.

He wrote, “It has come to my attention that recent reports circulating in the media regarding me, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Civil Societies, are misleading and untrue.

“The claims suggesting that I, Emmanuel Adebisi, have been suspended and removed from a WhatsApp group are categorically false.

“I continue to serve diligently in my capacity as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State, with unwavering commitment to my responsibilities.

“Any insinuation of my involvement in misconduct, particularly relating to the alleged diversion of 70 bags of rice intended for Osun civil societies during the Eid-el-Kabir festival, is entirely baseless and without merit and the handiwork of some bitter political fools and I challenge anyone with fact on this to bring it out.

“I, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel, remain an integral part of the Osun Government team and continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and service. We urge the media and the public to disregard the misinformation being circulated and refrain from spreading unsubstantiated claims that could tarnish the reputation of dedicated public servants.”
