Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that winger Luis Diaz was ‘really happy’ after receiving news of his father’s release from kidnappers on Thursday.
Klopp also said that the release of Diaz’s kidnapped father just a couple of hours before Liverpool’s Europa League clash in Toulouse was perfect timing.
DAILY POST recalls that Luis Manuel Diaz, the father of the Liverpool forward, was taken along with his wife Cilenis Marulanda 12 days ago, though Diaz’s mother was freed swiftly.
“It looks like Lucho (Luis Diaz) is really happy, (giving) thumbs up all the time,” Klopp told TNT Sports.
“It looks very, very good. Timing-wise, it could not have been better. If it is now, then great.”
The Colombian Football Federation had earlier thanked the national government, the military forces, and the national police, as well as all the institutions and officials that made the release of Luis Diaz’s dad possible.
