More facts have emerged over the kidnap and killing of the former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Prof Olorunfemi Olaofe.
Professor Olaofe was kidnapped in July but died in the den of the kidnappers who also collected ransom from the family.
Our correspondent gathered that the alleged mastermind of the kidnap who was a guard in the home of the Professor was also killed by other members and buried in a shallow grave.
According to findings, the guard was killed following a disagreement on the sharing formula for the ransom paid by the family which was about seven million Naira.
It was gathered that at the point of sharing the money, professor Olaofe’s guard insisted on taking the lion’s share of four million Naira which other gang members rejected.
However, the other gang members were said to have connived among themselves and killed him.
This fact was revealed to the DSS investigative team by the two suspects arrested earlier.
The body of the guard was exhumed on Thursday where he was buried and deposited at the morgue of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.
It took the DSS team and the Environmental officials more than an hour to convince the management of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti to take the body.
As of the time of this publication, concerned security agencies are yet to speak to the matter.
