Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney has suggested that England manager, Gareth Southgate should have taken Jordan Henderson to the Euro 2024 tournament.
Recall that Southgate left out Henderson from his final 26-man England squad for the Euro 2024.
Rooney spoke while insisting that Southgate might regret leaving Henderson out of his 26-man squad and deploying full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield as an ‘experiment’.
He then described Henderson as a voice, adding that he has experience.
“That is a strong word to say and if England don’t go far in this competition I think he [Southgate] might regret that,” Rooney was quoted by Metro UK as saying.
“There is a lack of experience in the team and voices. When you are going to press, you need to talk.
“I would have taken Jordan Henderson because he is a voice. Harry Kane is not a big talker.”
