Former AC Milan manager Fabio Capello has expressed disappointment with Victor Osimhen’s performance in Napoli’s defeat to Barcelona.
Osimhen was far from his best in the encounter, with Napoli succumbing to a 3-1 defeat.
The Nigeria international was roundly criticised in the Italian media for his insipid performance.
Capello believed that the 25-year-old failed to live up to expectations in the game.
“He was flagged offside six times in the first half and went unnoticed in the second half,” the former England manager said during Sky Sport Italia’s post-match show.
“It was not the same Osimhen we usually see. He struggled against Barcelona defenders and only won one aerial duel. Barcelona’s weak point was the defence, and he could not emerge.”
