Hardship: Sanwo-Olu slashes transport fare in Lagos, residents to buy food items at discount

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday announced a 25 per cent rebate on fares for government-owned transport schemes in the state.

Sanwo-Olu made this known during a live media chat on Arise Tv.

He said that workers in the teaching sector will maintain the five days a week work schedule and the state government will ensure additional transport support for them.

The governor further stated that as part of measures to ease the economic challenges on residents, civil servants from level 1-14 will begin to work three days a week.

He added that the state government will open Sunday Markets in at least 42 identified markets where residents will be able to buy food items at a discounted price.

”You will only need able to buy items worth up to N25,000,” he added.
