Hardship: Bauchi Emir appeals to traders to reduce prices of commodities

Amidst the current economic challenges in the country, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu has appealed to traders in the state to make the commodities affordable to the masses.

The Emir, who was worried about the rising prices of commodities in the State, implored the traders to make essential goods more affordable for the general public, especially the less privileged.

He emphasised that excessive profits, particularly on essential items like food, go against moral principles.

The royal father made the plea on Monday during a visit to various markets in Bauchi metropolis to assess the prevailing pricing conditions.

Adamu, who also serves as the Chairman of the Bauchi State Council of Traditional Rulers, acknowledged the economic hardship faced by the less fortunate, particularly their struggles to afford basic food items.

He advised traders to explore ways to make their prices accessible to ordinary citizens without suffering financial losses.

In their remarks, several traders commended the Emir for personally visiting the markets to observe the situation.

They pledged to maintain reasonable prices despite economic challenges, ensuring that the less privileged can purchase goods without undue stress.
