Suspected bandits have attacked and kidnapped Sarkin Gobir of Gatawa district, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, his son and five others along Sokoto/Sabon Birni road.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, confirmed the incident, saying that special operatives from the Command are trailing the abductors.
Similarly, an elder son of the victim, Alhaji Isa Sarkin Gobir, confirmed the incident, stating that the district head was ambushed at Kwanar Maharba area by Gunnen while travelling from Sokoto to Sabon Birni town, headquarters of Sabon Birni local government area.
According to him, the bandits on sighting the emir’s vehicle, started shooting guns, forcing the car to a sudden stop.
He further stated that the suspected bandits abducted the district head and his driver who happened to be his biological son.
He, therefore, pleaded with the government to do everything possible to ensure the release of the victims.
