Some gunmen have reportedly invaded a local security outfit ‘Ngboejeogu Central Security’ at Ngbo Court community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
They killed a female officer, whose name is yet to be identified at the time of filing this report.
DAILY POST reports that the gunmen also inflicted severe injuries on another, destroyed properties worth millions of naira, and looted a motorcycle.
The chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Ikechukwu Odono, who confirmed the incident, said his council is saddened by the attack.
He lamented the spate of brutality meted on security operatives in the council by gunmen.
“Security men have been battered, humiliated, abused, and murdered gruesomely which demoralizes the frantic efforts of our vigilantes in safeguarding our Localities.
“We mourn and console the families of the departed security personnel that lost her life in active duty,the one that is injured,operatives of Ngboejeogu Central Security, Ngboejeogu Clan, and entire Ohaukwu,” he stated.
He said efforts were on to ensure the culprits were brought to book.
