The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu will be pleased with whoever emerges as the candidate of the party on April 20.
The chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin, who stated this, stressed that the insinuation that the party will be faced with a crisis over the outcome of the primaries should be discarded.
According to Adetimehin, who met with the aspirants at the APC secretariat in Akure, the state capital, the party cannot afford to be engulfed in crisis ahead of the primaries.
He maintained that APC is the most viable and stable party in the state, hence the assurance of securing victory at the forthcoming governorship polls.
Adetimehin added that the party is proud of the calibre of aspirants seeking the party’s ticket, emphasising that it is an indication that the party will allow a level playing field for everyone.
The party chairman also appealed to the aspirants to be mindful of their utterances to avoid heating up the polity.
“The State Working Committee and the State Executive Committee under my leadership will do our utmost to fulfil our responsibilities, despite any kind of challenge, to ensure we provide a level playing field for a free, fair, credible, and smooth primary election.
“We will also ensure that due process is followed in all party decisions, and we shall abide by all existing laws, rules, and guidelines as provided by the National Working Committee to enable party members to vote for the best candidate of their choice,” he said.
