The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has taken a swipe at the lawmaker representing the Borno South, Senator Ali Ndume, over his recent outburst against President Bola Tinubu.
Ndume had during a function on Wednesday, alleged that the president has been fenced off and caged by certain forces, lamenting that Tinubu could not be reached in the face of the current economic situation.
The Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate also alleged that the Nigerian government is now run by “kakistocrats and kleptocrats.”
Reacting, COSEYL, in a statement on Saturday, tackled the lawmaker, wondering why he was silent during the previous administration led by the former president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Part of the statement reads: “Ali Ndume lost his voice during the tenure of President Buhari. He now suddenly regained his voice because a southern person was the President.
“If all the projects, empowerments, and other dividends of democracy approved for the good people of Borno South senatorial zone through Ndume were delivered to them, the youths of that senatorial zone will be gainfully employed and will not be available for crime and other terrorist activities.
“We call on Nigerians to disregard the statement by Senator Ndume, who only speaks against the government, using the poor Nigerians as cover when his personal interests are not met.”
