Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has attributed the continued dominance of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua’s political family in the state to the former president’s exemplary leadership.
Governor Radda remarked while speaking at the Katsina Government House during the 14th annual remembrance prayers for Yar’adua. He described the late President Yar’adua as a highly respected and disciplined individual who dedicated his life to serving the common man.
The Katsina governor acknowledged that his own leadership style is partly shaped by Yar’adua’s emphasis on ensuring that sacrifices made by the government directly benefit the lives of ordinary citizens.
Governor Radda lauded Yar’adua’s lasting legacies, highlighting the Umar Musa Yar’adua University Katsina, the Umaru Yar’adua International Airport, and his role in establishing Al-Qalam University. He expressed hope that Nigeria would be blessed with future leaders who share Yar’adua’s dedication to the betterment of the nation.
The event also featured the unveiling of a book titled “What Yar’adua Told Me and Taught Me,” written by a close confidante of the late president. Governor Radda praised the author’s initiative and urged the public to delve into the book’s insights.
Other dignitaries, including former Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema, the Emir of Daura, and Yar’adua’s brother, collectively stressed the importance of ongoing prayers for the former president’s soul. Notably, the Emir of Daura proposed holding similar prayer sessions in Abuja to encourage wider participation and well-wishes from across the nation.
