Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has suspended the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma and his Housing and Urban Development counterpart, Francis Ori.
Their suspension was announced on Monday during the weekly state Executive Council meeting held at the centenary city, New government House, Abakaliki.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation on Tuesday, Jude Okpor, which was made available to newsmen read, “Following cases of gross misconduct and dereliction of duties by some government officials and matters related thereto, the Chairman of Council directed the indefinite suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and months suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Health respectively.”
Governor Nwifuru had at the weekend visited the health ministry premises where six officials were caught allegedly diverting government materials.
