Gov Kefas establishes Civil Service Committee to drive reforms in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has approved the immediate establishment of a responsive Civil Service Committee.

The committee, announced in a statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Jalingo, the state capital, by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yusuf Sanda, has the former Head of Service of the Federation, Barrister Danladi Irimiya Kifasi, as its chairman.

Other members of the committee include Elder Simon Angyu, Hajiya Zuwaira Kishimi, Dr Ochi Chinoyerem Achiniva, Mr Akinlose Sylvester Arikawe, Ambassador Musa John, Dr Umar Dorofi, and Dr Rasheed Olawale Azeez.

The committee has been tasked with overseeing the implementation of civil service reforms in the state.

The statement added that the committee “is mandated to drive various programmes and initiatives, with a particular focus on formulating a robust training and retraining regimen for civil servants.”

The committee, which the governor said has a six-month tenure, is expected to deliver tangible results in line with the governor’s vision for a responsive and efficient civil service in the state.
