G20: Neglecting Nigeria, other African countries danger to humanity – Tinubu to world leaders [VIDEO]

President Bola Tinubu has rallied support from world leaders amid economic challenges faced by Nigeria and other African countries.

Tinubu made the call in his remarks at the G20 Summit in Brazil.

According to a video posted by Tinubu’s Media Centre on his X account on Wednesday, the Nigerian President told world leaders that neglecting Africa will pose a danger to humanity.

This is as Tinubu asked the World leaders to back their promises with actions in providing support to the Africa continent to end hunger and poverty.

According to him, the world should work together to lift one another up by building a veritable economic alliance.

He added that Nigeria, like the rest of Africa, is facing funding challenges that require support from world leaders.

“What do I do to help small-scale industry? The cost of funding is expensive. What do I do to get power to industrialise my country (Nigeria)?

“Support the continent; the neglect of Africa is a danger to humanity.

“We have to lift one another up and build an inclusive economy that takes into account population growth.

“In Nigeria, I have over 250 million citizens. The fight against hunger and poverty is not a matter of choice but a priority for me.

“I have a very vibrant youthful population, 70 percent below the age of 30 years. Setting up funding for their education is a challenge,” he said.

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, in 2022 showed that 63 percent of Nigeria live in multidimensional poverty.

DAILY POST reports that Tinubu earlier endorsed the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty.

Recall that Tinubu had departed Nigeria for Brazil to attend the 19th meeting of the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
