Fuel price hike: NNPCL owing IPMAN almost N15bn – Garima

Abubakar Garima, National President, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has disclosed that Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, is owing IPMAN almost N15 billion.

Garima stated this on Thursday while fielding questions on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief programme.

“Roughly now, they are owing us (IPMAN) getting to N15 billion,” Garima replied, when asked how much NNPCL is owing the association.

The statement comes after NNPCL jerked up the pump price of Petroleum Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol to N1,030 per litre.

The development was observed by our correspondent at some NNPCL outlets in Abuja on Wednesday.

Many Nigerians have condemned the latest fuel price hike.

DAILY POST recalls that economists had warned that the number of Nigerians below the poverty line may soon exceed the 104 million projected by the World Bank in 2023.
