Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf has been appointed the advisor to the technical crew of Nigeria Premier Football League side, Rivers United.
Yusuf’s appointment was announced on Friday.
The 61-year-old will work with Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma and other members of the technical crew.
The veteran tactician has managed a number of clubs in the NPFL including Nasarawa United, Kano Pillars, Enyimba and Kano Pillars and Rangers.
Yusuf led Kano Pillars to win the NPFL title in 2018.
The former midfielder also won the Nigeria Federation Cup with Enyimba in 2013.
Rivers United will hope his expertise can help revive their dwindling fortunes in the NPFL this season.
The Port Harcourt club, who have struggled in the top-flight this season currently sit in 12th position.
