Fleeing kidnappers kill two in Nasarawa

Kidnappers have killed two persons in Wulko community of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, LGA, of Nasarawa State.

The victims, Ango Habakkuk, also known as ‘Ango Gentle’, a technician, and Ewuga Williams, a security personnel, are said to be close friends.

The incident happened when the kidnappers were fleeing from the police, who were hot on their trail.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident unfolded after a farmer stumbled upon the kidnappers’ den, where victims were held for ransom.

The farmer promptly alerted the police, and a joint operation with local vigilantes was launched, leading to the invasion of the criminals’ hideout in Ogba village.

Eyewitnesses recounted that upon spotting the police, the kidnappers made a desperate attempt to escape, leaving behind their victims, including Isaac Igbawua, a lecturer at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), who was among those rescued.

The Nasarawa State Police Command, in a statement released by its spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, had confirmed the successful rescue of Igbawua, who was kidnapped from his residence in the Old Barracks, Kokona LGA, last Wednesday night.

Ewuga Williams, one of the victims, had already been laid to rest according to Christian rites.

However, Ango Habakkuk’s body remains at OLA Hospital, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
