Federal Polytechnic Nekede Rector inspects departments for course accreditation

Ahead of the visitation by the Nigeria Polytechnic Commission, the acting Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Ibeaja Uzoma Friday, has embarked on an intensive inspection of the departments in the institution in preparation for the forthcoming accreditation of some courses.

Speaking to journalists on Friday in his office, the rector expressed confidence that the departments are fully prepared for the accreditation.

He stated that Federal Polytechnic Nekede stands out for excellence and will remain at the peak of academic achievement.

Ibeaja urged some heads of departments who are yet to put their departments in order to do so immediately, as the institution will never compromise its high educational standards and technological ingenuity.

He insisted that Federal Polytechnic Nekede must uphold its mandate of imparting knowledge and technological know-how to its students.

Ibeaja pointed out that Federal Polytechnic Nekede is equipped with qualified lecturers who are technologically inclined and devoted to their work.

Showing excitement over the preparedness of the Mass Communication Department for accreditation, he urged other departments to follow suit, emphasizing that the accreditation is crucial to the existence of the institution.

Departments that received the rector’s approval include survey and geo-informatics, petroleum engineering, biochemistry, food technology, and agriculture, among others.

The rector assured that he will do everything possible to ensure every department gets accredited in order to uphold comprehensive academic excellence.
