FCTA to relocate traders from Apo mechanic village to Wassa

The Coordinator of Abuja Municipal Management Council, Felix Obuah, has said the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, would commence the relocation of mechanics and traders operating on road corridors of Apo to Wassa.

Obuah disclosed this in a meeting with the affected traders on Tuesday.

He said the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved land in the Wassa community where all affected people will be relocated by July.

Obuah said, “This issue of Apo Mechanic traders has lasted for over 15 years, I am just three months old in this office and we have settled the issue, today they are happy, they are smiling and we are smiling.

“We have decided to relocate all the traders on the road corridor and buffer zone to Wassa any moment from now and they are all happy.”

Obuah stated that the allocation would be made to individuals, not unions, adding that each trader would be required to provide their National Identification Number, NIN.

He assured the traders that the new location would be a permanent solution.
